Description

Ford : Bronco Explorer 1974 Ford Bronco uncut Red/Red AT PS orig paint rare

Available is a 1974 Early Ford Bronco Explorer package. You don’t find many like this anymore with it’s original paint. The Explorer package was available in 1973 and 1974 in Blue, Red, and Burnt Orange. The Red/Red Explorer package was only available in 1974 (so I’m told). This is a Bronco I wanted to keep personally, but I need to raise some money, so it’s available. This Bronco is one of the best color combinations that Ford ever made in the 70′s. Mechanically the engine starts, runs, drives, stops very nice. It has a new master cylinder and all 4 wheel cylinders have been replaced. The exhaust is fairly new also, and so are the 4WD hubs. The engine is the original 302, with C4 Automatic, and Power Steering. It has a newer poly rear tank and sending unit. The tires are 235/75/15 and have 95% tread, and the hubcaps are very nice. The body is very straight with some minor scratches and dents limited to the drivers side fender. I replaced all the lenses and the front bumper is new. The seats have been recovered in OEM original vinly and plaid fabric. I have the original rear seat which I took apart to paint the frame. The seats also have new foam. I have a new carpet kit and factory holddowns installed. Also I have new front door panels, arm rests and new rear panels as well. The rear panels are factory correct but actually were only available for the Ranger package, but the finish off the rear of the interior perfectly. The dash pad is original and has no cracks. The factory headliner is intact, and the top has never been off of this Bronco. I would describe the Bronco as a survivor. This was an old Fire Chiefs Bronco. It’s been in Arkansas it’s entire life until I bought it last year. It has an old Fire Chiefs Association sticker on the tailgate as well as the Ford dealer’s sticker. The odometer shows 36K, but I think it’s probably 136K. I was told from the fellow I bought it from that 36K is original mileage, but there is no documentation. The Bronco can be used as a daily driver. All the lights, wipers, and heater works. The paint is original which means NO BONDO! With that being said there is a silver dollar size hole in the passenger outer rocker (the rest of the rocker is in great shape). The drivers side rocker panel had a similar size hole patched, and the rocker is painted in Red Oxide primer. Speaking of Red Oxide primer, check out the 3rd member still in its factory primer…cool! There are no other rust issues with this Bronco. The front floors were repaired on the front seams and POR 15′d with 3 coats. There were some pinholes in the rear bed area that were seam sealed and coated with POR15. I have pictures available before the carpet was installed for anyone who wants to see them. The doors close great with no sag, as the door posts are excellent. All the glass is good, and the windows roll up and down fine. Please ask all questions before you bid. All questions will be answered. I require a $500 non refundable deposit at the auctions end via paypal. I have clear title in hand. The Bronco is sold as is with no warranty. I reserve the right to end the auction at anytime. I have a transport company who can ship the Bronco for between .55 and .75/mile. Thanks for looking. On Feb-28-11 at 20:53:59 PST, seller added the following information: I wanted to mention the paint is 37 years old and has it’s fair share of minor scratched and stone chips, but it’s original! It is holding up well, and I’d leave it as is. I have a pint of PPG Viking Red (factory color) that is included in the sale. I was going to have the drivers rocker painted. Also there are new rear air shocks installed. The interior light works too. Thanks.
